Keep Calm and Carry On

I am rubbing up against frustration at a disrupted week (again).

So there was that week when the dog was ill, I didn’t get much work done.

Then there was the week when I got stung by a bee and lost a day and a half thanks to being roofied by antihistamines.

And this week, yet another issue that means my work days are shortened by a couple of hours every day. (Nothing serious, just one of those things.)

Meanwhile, the work keeps piling up. And the editing project is STILL not complete. It’s close, but keeps being pushed aside by more urgent (but arguably less important) things.

It’s a situation designed to frustrate me. It’s working quite well in that regard.

Early in the week, I went to Stratford-Upon-Avon with a friend for Afternoon Tea in a tearoom themed on the 40’s. There are lots of posters around the tearoom from war times – things like “keep calm and carry on”…

A message which came to mind today when I switched my laptop on with a very tight window of time only for it to play up and have to be rebooted (losing me half of the little time I had).

It was the last thing I needed today but c’est la vie – I just had to keep calm and carry on.

Clearly the universe is still trying to slow me down (is mercury retrograde or something?).

As far as I’m concerned I did slow down – last week AND the week before.

Then I was accepting it. Now, I’m finding it harder to relax into the slowness.

Coincidentally we have a new month coming up which means a new practice in the Fall in Love With Life group.

July’s daily practice is meditation.

Maybe I should start a few days early and despite having very little time to do everything I need to do, stop and let meditation calm me down, clear my mind, get me clear on my priorities, and connect me to inner and higher guidance.

Actually, there’s no maybe about it. I definitely need to make my meditation practice a priority again.

Once I’ve got the calm bit down, I’ll be better able to carry on.

And if you are hitting the middle of the year feeling like you need to calm down, relax, chill, breathe, clear your mind, get your priorities clear, get connected to inner and higher guidance, why not join us

I’ve noticed on Facebook that there are quite a lot of people who have the ‘June blah’s’ so if you’re one of us, know that you’re not alone…we all just need to Keep Calm and Carry On!
