How are you doing my friend?
How is the C word affecting you?
In chatting with friends and family, we’re going through lots of feelings!
Stress, panic, fear, anxiety, irrationality, irritability, tears, hysteria, paranoia, anger….
And for many of us, we’re shocked by how much we’re feeling, or we didn’t expect it to affect us this much.
I was in that camp. I knew this lock-down was coming, and I thought ‘it’s OK, I work from home and am an introvert anyway, I’ll be FINE!’
Hmm. Nope. Still totally discombobulated by the whole thing.
So I wanted to say to you: feel what you feel.
Don’t judge yourself for feeling whatever you feel.
If you need a cry, cry.
If you are angry, let yourself be angry…and try not to take it out on everyone else.
If you are fearful, honour that.
You are allowed to feel all of the feelings.
You are allowed to react differently to how you expected.
You are allowed to be a bit irrational.
You are allowed to feel what you feel.
As you do, the feelings will pass on their own and you will find an equilibrium; or you can work your tools to find ways to feel better.
But first, feel how you feel. No judgement.
I’ve seen and heard a lot of “I know I’m being silly…” and “I shouldn’t feel…” and “I thought I’d be able to cope better”.
Don’t do that to yourself.
This is a batshit crazy situation, with an invisible foe and disruptive rules.
It’s ok to find that a bit disconcerting!
I love you.
PS If you need some support during this c-razy time, let’s talk. I’d love to gift you a free coaching session to help you work through all the madness you’re experiencing (or if you’re feeling calm and good and ready for change and coaching, you can have a session too!). Just contact me and lets set up a time to talk.
