I am writing this article a little early this week, because I have a plan to Ride Some Wild Donkeys. Hopefully by the time you read this, I’ll be in the middle of some MASSIVE PROGRESS – that’s the plan anyway. I encourage you to look into how Riding Wild Donkeys could help your Big Dreams come true sooner.
Ok, I’m sure you’re wondering what the beep I’m on about! Wild Donkeys? Wtf? This is an idea I learned from Leonie Dawson – and the idea is simple. When you are working on a project, you RIDE THE WILD DONKEY of your idea until it’s done. Instead of chipping away slowly at a project, you just throw a whole load of time at it and make a huge dent in it.
I read Leonie’s free ebook about it MONTHS ago, but only now have I cleared the decks and cleared some time to DO IT! (By the way, you can get this free ebook here – it’s under the ‘Business Goddess’ stuff about 3/4 of the way down the page.) I am super excited about my Wild Donkey riding. I have 3 product projects that are kinda going nowhere with the ‘chipaway’ method, so I’m going to see what happens when I devote 3 days of this week to them. As you read this, I’ll be on Day 3…and hopefully having made some serious inroads into the projects. If this experiment works I’m going to be having wild donkey riding days every week.
So, how about you? What projects have you got languishing in the cupboards? What have you been working on forever? What have you been chipping away at for a long time? I’m normally a fan of the ‘chip-away’ method – bit by bit, shit gets done! But with certain projects, like product creation for example, it’s not really working for me. I suspect if I put aside half an hour a day to work on new products/projects, I’d be releasing a product a month, but that’s just not happening.
So I’m going to ride a wild donkey and just see what happens! Wish me luck!
Something to Play With
