Q: I know what I want to do and I’ve been looking on the internet for help to make it happen. Now I’ve done loads of courses, read loads of books, and I’m on about 100 mailing lists…but I haven’t actually DONE anything towards my dream. I seem to be getting distracted by all the conflicting advice, and I just don’t know where to start. Now whenever I look at any of the books, e-mails and courses, I just feel bad.
Part of making your dream a reality is ‘information-gathering’ – it sounds like you’ve got stuck in the information gathering phase! Here’s my 3 step plan for you:
1. Unsubscribe – only keep the stuff that you enjoy, you love, you think you will (happily) do, only have things coming into your inbox that make you feel good!
2. Get back in touch with yourself – and what you think and feel. Try the morning pages by Julia Cameron – 3 pages of writing – just free-write everything that comes into your head. Try meditating – don’t be put off by the idea of this, just try out some different ways to quiet the mind – walking meditation, guided meditation, chanting, focusing on your breathing.
3. Take action. Find the next step and take it. Then find the next step and do it. Here’s the link to the podcast about this: The First/Next Step

Lol Karen – ‘look – a chicken’!!! I’d be tempted to keep those ones…but good idea to just get rid!! Love you too! xx
Best 1st-Step-Suggestion Ever: Unsubscribe!!
I’ve got quite a few “virtual archives” in my InBox Folders – all the emails announcing a ‘new article’ from tons of columnists. Most ‘felt’ useful at the time – some are still useful once-in-a-while. I think I’ve gotten rid of all the blatantly “icky marketing” ones…
Next cull-session – the “look – a chicken!” ones – purely distracting shiny-objects, that I have decided to stop subjecting my ADD-ish-nesses to…
Love you, and your Virtual Archives 🙂
