The September Daily Practice is to feel how you feel – if you feel meh, allow yourself to feel meh, if you feel sad, cry, if you feel joyous, sing/skip/happy dance/clap. Allow those emotions to move through you. For the last week of this practice, we’re going to be using movement to help us feel and move that feeling through.
I learned through going to an event in Coventry called Heart Dance (it’s now moved to Birmingham) that dance is a wonderful way to let feeling move through you. By dancing, you have a physical release of feeling, and we all need a release.
Even if you think you can’t dance, just move your body to music (that’s dancing!) – you don’t have to be in time, you don’t have to do particular steps, you don’t have to be good, you just need to move your body. To music. And dance!
Join me on facebook for daily reminders to feel – and next week, to move that feeling!

Thanks a lot , your new grateful follower .
Woohoo! I’m so glad it hit the spot for you. And you’re absolutely right, the people coming into the school don’t need to see you being ‘meh’, but if you allow yourself to feel it, you’ll have more energy to be peppy and happy instead of the ‘meh’ inside draining you. And YES – I think we could start a worldwide movement to dance for energy instead of popping supplements! Let me know how you get on (and I expect to see a video on CCOR of some dancing!) xx
Donna, THANK YOU for this message. This is very timely and also very helpful for two reasons: 1) My job requires me to be “Mr. Happy”. I work at the front desk of a elementary school. It is my goal to make people feel welcome and at ease. To calm the emotions if angry parents or show a little one some support it love. But there are many times when I just am “meh”. It is such a struggle because my energy feels so drained and strained. I am literally giving more emotionally than I really have inside. I don’t think I need to show those folks my real emotions, because again, it’s my job to project a certain persona. BUT, taking a cue from what you said, sometimes, a quick break to just go somewhere alone and just regenerate myself with how I am really feeling is a great idea. And 2) as you know, I have been looking for remedies to increase my energy. I think you hit it right on the head…DANCE! Or at least movement! I definitely plan on looking into some of the other remedies people have suggested for me, but in the meantime before I make that expensive track over to the old health food store, I love you suggestion of DANCE! When I start to feel my energy waining, getting up and MOVING is going to be my new strategic plan of action. As you suggested, it diesn’t necessarily have to be a fast techno song, but something that gets me motivated and re-energized so I can stay awake and alert with my school work and studies. This video was SO helpful! Thanks, doll! Cheers!!!!
